Smart technologies are becoming popular everywhere nowadays. There are smart watches, smartphones, smart glasses, and what not. Recently, the concept of smart homes popped up and it is taking momentum. But not many know what it means actually.
What Is A Smart Home
A smart home in its original sense means a home that is equipped with hi-tech devices for every chore. In a smart home, you need not perform daily chores like house cleaning or cooking because everything is done by smart appliances. Modern technology has introduced several hi-tech home appliances already and they are in great demand in the market. Here are two of the most common ones seen in smart homes.
Roomba Vacuum Cleaning Robot
It seems that we no longer need to hire house cleaning services to have the house cleaned up because robotic vacuum cleaners (Roomba) can clean up your entire home in a couple of minutes. And it is quite different from professional house cleaners using electrified vacuum cleaners.
The robotic vacuum cleaners are more advanced than the normal electric vacuum cleaners because they function without a person manually operating them. A robotic vacuum cleaner does all the house-cleaning tasks, say sweeping, moping, window cleaning, etc. The developers of Roomba are planning to manufacture it commercially so it will not be too long before we can see them in our homes.
Smart Coffee Machine
Cooking is a task that is tedious, especially for those who have to take care of a long shift at the office. Such people order food from some restaurant or take away, because they cannot find ample time to cook. However, to end that habit, we have smart kitchen appliances now that can help you with all the cooking you need.
A smart kitchen will have automatic appliances that will cook food, prepare coffee, do the dishes, etc. Well, the appliances that can do such tasks are not commercially manufactured at present, but you can get a smart coffee machine to have a breakfast coffee at least. A smart coffee machine has an alarm clock option, so it prepares your coffee even before you wake up.
Experts are expecting more smart applications to be launched in the upcoming months. But how well these appliances would do to convert a simple home into a smart home is yet to be seen.
