Washing windows is an annoying and tiresome process, but what’s more annoying is cleaning your windows when there are streaks on your windows. However, you can avoid streaking from your windows efficiently by using a smooth and soft rubber edge window-washing squeegee.
Dry a 1-inch strip on either the top or side of the window, and start washing from this spot. Also, try not to wash windows in direct sunlight, as quickly dried glass is more prone to streaking.
If there are chances for the accumulation of dust and other particles on your window blinds, use an antiseptic spray on your blinds once you finish cleaning your windows. Wipe clean with a cotton cloth and let them dry naturally.
Prepare a solution using 2 ounces of household bleach and a single ounce of laundry detergent in a quart of water. Spray the solution into the mildew spots in your window and leave it undisturbed for 10 minutes. Rinse the spots thoroughly using clean water. This method will easily remove the black or grey mildew spots in your windows and keep it clean.
There is a great chance for dust accumulation on your windowsills, as they are exposed to the outside environment. The easiest way to clean them is by applying a coat of floor wax on these windows, and then wiping them up with a dry cloth.
Dust your shades regularly using a soft cloth or a dusting brush. Make sure to dust on both sides of the shades. Remove the shades and clean them properly, if they are stained or spotted. You can wash the shades as well, if required.
Prepare a solution of ¼ cup white vinegar in one liter of warm water and use sponge and this solution to wash vinyl shades. It is highly recommended to wash the shades in a bathtub. Fill the bathtub with water and add a bit of dishwashing liquid into it.
After adding the liquid, wipe both sides of the shade using a large spoon. Finally, dunk them in clean water or hold the shades under shower in order to rinse them.
