It is quite natural for things to get accumulated in the bedroom, be it jewelry, clothes, your electronic items, magazines, or books. It need not be this way though. The bedroom should be a haven for you after a long day at work. So it is important to clean it at least once a week, or if possible, at the weekends.
Making Your Bedroom Look Fresh And Clean
Start by stripping off the bed sheets, pillowcases, and blankets, and put them in the washing machine. Also, take the curtains off and put them in the washing machine in the next load.
Take a plain sheet and put it over the bed – this is going to protect the mattress from the dust and dirt falling from the ceiling, fan, and air conditioner that you will vacuum. Also, go around the room and clear everything off from the cupboard and tables.
After that, take a damp cloth and clean the windowsill, lamps, clocks, door handles, and light switches. File paperwork that you might need later, dispose of the old magazines that you won’t need, and put the DVD’s and CD’s in the storage unit.
After cleaning the fan and the ceiling from cobwebs, take away the sheet that you put earlier on the bed. After removing the sheet, vacuum the mattress on both the sides.
Now check the items in the room and decide which things to keep and which ones to discard. Then vacuum the floor.
Go through all the clothing items in the wardrobe and again decide which ones to keep and which ones you don’t want. If you have not used something for the last 12 months or so, donate it to charity. Wipe clean or vacuum the wardrobe before placing all the clothes back on the shelves.
Now that the bed is clean, put the bed and mattress back again and spread a clean sheet over it. Also, don’t forget to put your curtains back.
